Norwich — A city man was charged Friday with sexually assaulting a minor, police said.
Nathan J. Malave-Rodriguez, 33, of 330 Mohegan Park Road was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault: sodomy/non-intercourse, two counts of risk of injury to a minor and third-degree sexual assault.
Norwich police said Sunday they were alerted of the possible abuse of a minor by The William W. Backus Hospital last month. They said a victim had accused Malave-Rodriguez of sexual assault and sexual contact while at the hospital. Juvenile Detective Ryan D. Kelsey investigated the incident and arrested Malave-Rodriguez on Friday after obtaining a warrant.
Malave-Rodriguez was held on a $50,000 bond and is due in Norwich Superior Court May 16.
