Firefighters knock down blaze at Groton home

Groton — A fire at 15 Miami Court was knocked down quickly Wednesday morning.

About 10:45 a.m. the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department was dispatched to the address, according to Fire Marshal Michael Bednarz.

Firefighters observed flames and smoke coming from the single-family home upon arrival. The fire was knocked down within 15 minutes, with Navy North Atlantic Fire Department, City of Groton Fire Department, New London Fire Department, Old Mystic Fire Department, Mystic Fire Department, Groton Ambulance, Yale New Haven paramedics and Groton Town police also responding.

Bednarz's office is investigating the fire.

More details were not immediately available.
