CJ Parker named new Fitch girls’ basketball coach
Groton — New London High School and Northeastern University graduate CJ Parker has been named the new girls’ basketball coach at Fitch High School.
Parker replaces Falecia Porter, who resigned recently citing family considerations.
Parker has been an assistant coach for the New London girls’ basketball program and the UConn Avery Point men.
“CJ was selected out of a strong group of candidates based on his ability to demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to the game of girls' basketball,” Fitch athletic director Marc Romano said. “During his interview and on-court practice demonstration, his enthusiasm, experience, ability to maximize player development and positive approach to team success shined through. We look forward to coach Parker continuing to build upon the success of our program.”
Parker hails from a coaching family. His dad, Craig, won more than 500 games and four state titles as the New London High boys’ basketball coach through the 2022-23 season. His mother, Missy, remains the volleyball and softball coach at New London High.
