Derek Hough is leaving his judge’s chair on “Dancing with the Stars” to kick off his new tour, “Derek Hough: Dance For The Holidays,” which comes to the Mohegan Sun on Sunday.

The show promises phenomenal dancing — I swear that Hough seems to constantly defy gravity — and a get-into-the-Christmas-spirit atmosphere. While Hough is quite a dancer, he’s also an incredibly talented choreographer, so the production is bound to have a lot of numbers that’ll impress.

It also features someone who is, miraculously, back dancing: Hough’s wife Hayley Erbert, who suffered a brain bleed and had to have an emergency craniectomy in December 2023.

Hough told Access Hollywood that they are thinking about performing on tour the emotional “Beautiful Things” duet they did on “Dancing with the Stars.” It marked Erbert’s first time dancing on the show since her medical crisis.
