3 facing drug charges after Hartford raid in Frog Hollow neighborhood
HARTFORD — City police arrested three people Friday after seizing a semiautomatic firearm, fentanyl and cocaine during a raid at a Frog Hollow residence as part of an investigation into drug activity, officials said.
Officers executed a search warrant in the 80 block of Hungerford Street in response to complaints from residents of open-air drug sales in the neighborhood, according to Hartford Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Chris Mastroianni.
Mastroianni said officers seized a semiautomatic firearm, 1,710 sleeves of fentanyl, 81 grams of crack cocaine and 5.6 grams of powder cocaine during the search.
He said the warrant also led detectives to a secondary address on Park Street, where they seized narcotics packaging and $14,473 in cash.
Luis Colon-Perez, 37, of Hartford, is charged with operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance. Eduardo Ortiz, 40, of Hartford, is charged with possession of narcotics with the intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance. Christina Evans, 27, of Hartford, is charged with possession of narcotics.
