Two seriously injured after pickup truck rolls over after striking boulder

Two people were seriously injured when a pickup truck left the road in Stafford on Monday and crashed into a boulder.

The crash was reported around 7:45 p.m. on Orcuttville Road just west of the Route 19 intersection, according to Connecticut State Police.

A 31-year-old Stafford Springs man driving a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck east on Orcuttville Road lost control of the vehicle and drove off the right side of the road, striking a boulder, state police said. The truck then rolled over and ended up back in the road.

According to state police, the driver was flown via LifeStar to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries.

A passenger in the truck, a 56-year-old Stafford Springs woman, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital in an ambulance.

    The crash remains under investigation.
